School of Prayer Ministry

by Ron McNerney, WWCCR School of Prayer Ministry Coordinator

In the past I have been asked the question, “Why do you need a class to teach people how to pray?”

My answer is simple. Deep down inside, everyone really already knows how to pray. We are simply offering insights as to how to minister, through prayer, to those we encounter. For lack of a better term, there are different “styles” of prayer that are available to the prayer minister. The School of Prayer Ministry is offering additional “tools” to help the prayer teams connect with those they are praying for.

The School of Prayer Ministry is a year-long commitment, with classes on the third (and fifth) Saturdays of the month. It is a full day, from nine o’clock in the morning to five o’clock in the afternoon. A typical class day consists of praise and worship/prayer time, introductory presentations by SPM team members, and viewing a DVD followed by general discussion of the materials presented. During the class day, students and facilitators break into small groups to pray and practice what they have been discussing.

While attending the School of Prayer Ministry, students are exposed to a variety of topics with over 45 lessons presented. Some of the topics include: praying for physical, inner, and generational healing; healing in marriage and divorce; abortion and miscarriage; suffering, depression and mental illness; post-traumatic stress disorder; spiritual warfare and deliverance ministry; spiritual, sexual, physical and emotional abuse; and hearing God and praying with authority.

There is a mini Life in the Spirit Seminar presented and Mass is celebrated three times, once each level.

Classes will be held at:
St. Stephen the Martyr Parish
13055 SE 192nd St, Renton WA

Check out our online Events Calendar for specific dates for this event which starts in June. Since this is a year-long commitment and the topics & presentations build on one another, please sign up at the beginning of the year by attending the Orientation Classes (dates above).

About the NEW School of Prayer Ministry

The School of Prayer Ministry presented by WWCCR is designed to teach individuals, churches, prayer groups and other Christian organizations about healing prayer. There are three levels – it is very important to take each level in sequence, as each course builds upon the previous one.

Level I prayer training course includes a foundational, balanced and practical approach to begin a prayer ministry. This course offers a scriptural basis for God’s gift of healing and prayer for healing, and it teaches the student how to effectively minister prayer for healing within a Biblical framework.

Level II builds on the foundations established in Level I. It leads prayer ministers through a progressive and more in-depth understanding of the healing ministry and more specific issues that arise. It focuses on the healing of relationships through more defined areas such as healing of marriage, healing wounds of divorce, and healing of abortion and miscarriage, among others.

Level III addresses issues that very experienced prayer ministers may encounter, such as abuse, addictions, and deliverance.

See Ron McNerney’s article about the School of Prayer Ministry featured in our 2017 March/April Issue of GLEANINGS.
